Pure Water Farm
Nestled against the Smoky Mountains sits Pure Water Farm. The farm is rich in all that makes Eastern Tennessee beautiful and alluring—farmland, log cabins, and history. For a rustic wedding venue, Pure Water Farm is unique in that it was custom built with events in mind. This means that every possible detail needed for a successful event was thought of in advance.
As a Knoxville wedding photographer, I find this site amazing for several reasons. The classic wooden structures, including the recreated water tower, set against the mountains and ponds of the property create a stunning backdrop. If you’re planning a rustic or elegant country wedding, be sure to include Pure Water Farm on your venue options list. Once you visit, or even just explore online, you will quickly see why this is a popular wedding destination.
Reconstructing History from the Ground Up
An archaeological dig on the site uncovered the remains of stones, building logs, and fireplaces from long ago European inhabitants. The site is believed to be one of America’s earliest colonial settlements, dating to the 1700s. The cabins and schoolhouse were reconstructed to look exactly as they had looked 300 to 400 years ago.
The natural beauty of the setting makes it easy to see why early settlers chose the location to call home. Freshwater ponds, trout streams, and rich farmland exist today. The artisan well water is some of the freshest water in the Smokies and makes a refreshing beverage for your guests.
Pure Water is an exclusive, private farm that focuses on sustainable organic products. The custom event space was designed with the intent of providing the region with a clean yet rustic, historic yet modern, place to celebrate life’s special events. The fact that it is also an organic farm is an added draw due to the popularity of farm-to-table dining.
The staff encourages the use of their seasonal crops for serving your guests a healthy and wholesome reception meal. Just coordinate with your caterer and the farm and depending upon the season, you’ll have a menu that has guests raving—and eating!
About the Venue
The custom built event barn accommodates up to 100 guests for plated or family-style seating with room still available for dancing on—depending on the season—heated floors. Also, a modern sound and light system complete the barn. There is a handbuilt bar where guests can enjoy adult beverages. One wall of the barn opens to allow in the cool, mountain air. If you need additional space, you can place a large event tent near the barn entrance.
The event barn includes such hand-crafted details as:
- Aged wood siding
- Authentic black iron fixtures
- Enormous hand-cut saw wood beams
- Stunning archways
Outdoor weddings are a popular option too. Couples can exchange vows under a flowered arch with the Smoky Mountains as their backdrop, then move to the barn for the reception.
Whether you have an indoor or outdoor ceremony, the venue will happily ring the schoolhouse bell at the end of your nuptials. This is a celebratory way to announce your marriage and to start the celebration festivities.
Be sure to ask about the full year of wedding planning services from their on-site, award-winning wedding planner. The services are listed as part of their wedding packages and are worthy of consideration if you need assistance planning your special day.
Knowing that early European settlers started their new life here gives special meaning to starting your new life here. There’s something incredibly romantic about the history of those who forged a life on the site and the natural beauty of the setting only adds to the ambiance.
Erin Morrison Photography
I’m Erin Morrison and I’m a professional wedding photographer based in Knoxville. I never tire of the romance of a ceremony or the joy shared at the reception. Why? Because each couple is unique, and that is what I enjoy most about what I do. My specialty is natural light, documentary-style photography. This simply means that my approach is to capture the real you during the intimate and candid moments of the day.
Wedding photography today is not what it once was with the forced poses and fake smiles. Natural smiles are the best, as are natural tears and unplanned moments. My photographs capture the story of your day and result in memories you will treasure forever.
The Smokies region is my home. And I love the beauty and natural surroundings that draw thousands of visitors every year. Despite being a popular tourist area, wedding venues like Pure Farm are off the beaten path. They sit along quiet country roads. The only lights at night are the Tennessee stars—there’s no neon—only little white lights illuminating the charming and rustic barn.
Investing in professional photography for your wedding is a wise decision. Years from now, you’ll reflect on your wedding day. The photographs will help you to remember the friends and family who shared your special memories.
