Smoky Mountain Cabin Weddings at The Roosevelt Lodge
Planning a wedding in the Smoky Mountains is a choice to embrace nature as part of your joyful union. With some of the most breathtaking natural backdrops in the US, you can’t help but feel uplifted by the forest, the mountains, and the sky beyond. Of course, it takes more than beautiful land to make a great wedding, which is why you’ll find the spacious Roosevelt Lodge nestled between the trees providing an incredibly spacious yet homey cabin environment to welcome your entire family to your mountain nuptials.
The Roosevelt Lodge in Gatlinburg
In 1940, Franklin Roosevelt stood at the Rockefeller Monument and dedicated the entire Great Smoky Mountains National Park “for the enjoyment of the people”. The Roosevelt Lodge was built to honor that sentiment, creating a cozy yet spacious cabin venue with mountains in every direction “for the enjoyment of the people.”
Surround yourself with the miraculous beauty of the national park while also just a 20-minute drive from downtown Gatlinburg for all your supply and entertainment needs. This space is perfect for weddings because it was designed to bring families together – but with plenty of room for everyone.
Room For the Whole Family
The Roosevelt Lodge can sleep 34 guests between six private bedrooms, a bunk-room for the kids, and a few extra fold-outs so your wedding party can be as big as you want it to be. The five private bedrooms each feature a Queen- or King-sized bed with comfortable seating, a private bathroom, and incredible mountain views.
The Bunk Room features two full-sized beds and two sets of bunk beds. Across the covered porch is a separate suite with a mini kitchen, plush seating, and two sets of bunk beds – perfect to set the teenagers apart or send the kids to play during adult quiet time. There are also a few surprise fold-out beds for those extra guests you just have to have.
Luxury Amenities in a Charming Cabin Setting
In the Roosevelt Lodge, you will find luxury at every turn nestled into a charming cabin setting. The porch features rocking chairs and an extra-large jacuzzi hot tub to enjoy nature from steamy comfort. There are two beautiful stone fireplaces to gather around, and an outdoor fireplace that is ideal for cocktail hour at your outdoor wedding.
The Loft Library features hundreds of books for those who like to quietly peruse. But perhaps best of all is plush Home Theater which seats seven reclining leather chairs and the Game Room; featuring a pool table, air hockey, cool old arcade games, and plenty of board games to explore.
Every bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower or deep soaking tub so you can look and feel your best for the big day. Beautiful wood panels, stone tile, and rustic timbers can be seen in every room so that natural elegance is all around you.
Surround Yourself with Nature
Of course, what most families truly love about weddings in the Roosevelt Lodge are the views. This two-story lodge offers both warm stone patios and incredible balcony sights of the Smokies in every direction. Take in the views of the forest and slopes from the comfort of a porch rocking chair, the luxury of the hot tub, or in a plush chair from the cozy indoors through one of the many great windows.
You won’t believe that Gatlinburg is only 20 minutes away because your wedding won’t include a single view of civilization. With a perfect location in The Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the Roosevelt Lodge makes you feel like you are truly one with the beautiful surrounding mountains, forest, and the sky above.
Outdoor Ceremonies and Indoor Receptions
Roosevelt Lodge is surrounded by a vista of open grass, lovely stone patios, and trees for miles beyond. This makes it the perfect place for an outdoor wedding in any season. You can set up a breathtaking ceremony with your own custom arbor and seating on the lawn. Surround your trading of vows with the glorious expanses of nature all around you, and give your guests a memory of beauty they will never forget.
In the summer, you can host your reception on the porches, lawn, and patios of Roosevelt lodge with fun outdoor stations for activities and treats. Set up an outdoor dance floor and kick up your heels deep into the night with no limitations as your only neighbors are milds of wildlife. Light the outdoor fireplace for a cozy place to gather as the sun sets and enjoy cocktails in its flickering warmth.
In the colder months, take your reception indoors to the spacious family seating areas found in every expanse of the lodge’s public areas. Pushchairs to the walls and dance indoors. As the festivities settle down, gather for a family card game and quiet conversation. Or separate into smaller activity groups in the many themed rooms. View a few special home videos in the home theater, soak in the hot tub, gather in the game room, relax in the library, and get cozy by the fire.
Not to mention the separate suite and the Bunk Room where kids and teens can find their own space throughout the celebration.
Get Everyone “Home Safe” With Bedrooms Right Upstairs
Of course, one of the best things about a cabin wedding is that everyone gets “home safe”. No matter how much drinking and dancing your wedding reception gets up to, no one has to drive home because their bedrooms are just a few steps away.
The Roosevelt Lodge features three bedrooms on the main floor, two on the second floor, the Bunk Room, and the bunk-bed suite across the covered porch. Plus a few fold-out couches in the upstairs lounge.
First, all this space means that your entire wedding party can get prepared for the big day without running around from hotel to venue. Then, there’s plenty of room for the whole family to get to their beds after a wonderfully tiring day of celebration and festivities.
The Wedding Photos You’ll Never Forget
When planning your wedding, no doubt you are also planning for a lifetime of memories. The Roosevelt Lodge is the perfect place for timeless wedding photos both indoors and out. Your outdoor photos will feature a backdrop of breathtaking mountains and nature, without a single sign of civilization to mar the perfection of each shot.
The Lodge itself also offers an incredible selection of natural stone and beam architecture to frame your porch-covered and indoor photo shoots. No matter how you decorate for your cabin wedding, the Roosevelt Lodge is sure to create a book of wedding photos that you and the family will never forget.
