Hiwassee River Weddings in Delano, Tennessee

Hiwassee River Weddings and Events

Rustic, peaceful, and ambiance are just three words to describe the Hiwassee River Wedding Venue. The property is a wooded peninsula that is surrounded on three sides by water. Nineteen acres await your discovery as you choose among different locations for your ceremony and reception. The natural beauty of the area is hard to put into words but picturesque for wedding photography.

The River

The Hiwassee River is one backdrop choice for your ceremony. The calm and still river, framed by the natural tree line, is a unique place for a wedding and certainly far, far from the standard hotel ballroom. While there is nothing wrong with a hotel wedding, an outdoor wedding by a river just can’t be beaten when it comes to natural beauty and romance.

Couples have access to an optional wooden arch and cross, both made from trees on the property. Custom wooden benches accommodate as many as 150 guests. Your family and guests will enjoy the windy trail through the forest to the river ceremony spot. If needed, the venue provides golf cart transportation from the parking lot to the site.

Legend has it that the word Hiwassee originated from the Cherokee word, Ayuhwasi, meaning meadow. The river has a long and important history, making it a special place for starting your forever. Photographing ceremonies that take place during this peaceful wedding is a wedding photographer’s dream. East Tennessee is my home and I never tire of the beauty that surrounds me and the joy I get capturing love among it.

The Forest

Nestled among the tall Tennessee trees is a custom-built wooden platform, the perfect spot for exchanging vows. The shade of the trees and the quiet, calm of the surrounding forest create an ambiance of enchantment. There is custom wooden bench seating for up to 150 family members and guests. Edison bulbs are strung throughout to make the forest an inviting, if not a magical place, for a wedding at sunset.

The forest wedding location is conveniently located near the reception hall and it is within sight of the Hiwassee River. No matter what time of day you choose to marry, a forest ceremony makes for great photography due to the beauty of the natural backdrop.

Timber Frame Event Hall

This 5,600-square-foot facility was made from trees gathered from the property. The mighty forest timber invokes a sense of the outdoors while the event hall provides modern conveniences. First, it’s climate controlled, an important feature when you consider how unpredictable Mother Nature can be during certain months.

Second, the Timber Frame Event Hall offers two wedding suites, one for ladies and one for gentlemen, complete with multiple vanities and WiFi. The event hall makes for a great reception space or it can also serve as Plan B when, again, Mother Nature decides to rain your special day.  When used for a ceremony, the Timber Frame Event Hall serves as a rustic indoor setting that maintains an outdoor vibe. The large windows allow light to gently illuminate the wooden beams, resulting in the right conditions for professional photography.

Whether you are exchanging vowels or celebrating your nuptials with dancing and cake, the Timber Frame Event Hall is an attractive option for both ceremonies and receptions.

I take what I do seriously yet I’m not afraid to have fun too. My style is natural light, documentary photography that captures your story. Planning a wedding is stressful but once the day is done, all that remains are the photographs. These special moments in time you will treasure as you celebrate milestones and anniversaries for years to come. That’s why investing in a professional photographer for your wedding is so important. Long after the band is gone and the last of the cake is served, the candid moments of the day remain.

Why a Great Venue Matters

Your wedding day is a moment in time. It is one day of your life that is for celebrating you and your partner. While things can, and often do, go wrong, choosing a venue that specializes in weddings and receptions is important. Professional services produce professional results. Hiwassee River Weddings offers the best of both worlds: the beauty that is Eastern Tennessee and an event hall constructed from the land that has modern conveniences.

Combining my photography services with this venue location is a win-win for your wedding day. When something goes astray, we’ll roll with the changes together. Some of the most remembered and treasured moments are the ones that were unplanned.

Wedding venues and professional services book early in Eastern Tennessee, so don’t delay in reserving your special day with me and with Hiwassee River Weddings. You’ll fall in love with the venue once you visit it. A quick walk among the trees and along the river and you’ll be hooked. For more information about my services, availability, and pricing, contact me. I’d love to learn more about your plans and most importantly, your wedding date.
