Tsali Notch Vineyard

Located an hour outside of Knoxville sets the Tsali Notch Vineyard. The name—which represents a historic Cherokee leader—isn’t the only thing unique to this vineyard. Tsali Notch Vineyard is the largest muscadine vineyard in Tennessee. Known as “America’s Wild Grape,” this special grape, grown in this beautiful setting, is just one of the many attractive reasons for celebrating your special day at Tsali Notch Vineyard.

Scenic Beauty

Tsali Notch Vineyard sits in the Tennessee Overhill Heritage Area and provides stunning views of both the Cherokee National Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains. More than 6,000 vines of luscious muscadine grapes grow on 21 miles of trellis, covering 35 of the 202-acre estate. A rustic wedding in a scenic setting just doesn’t get any better than this.

During harvest season in September and October, guests can pick their own muscadine grapes for their own juice or jelly. These are two of their busiest months so be sure to contact them far enough in advance to secure a date. Tsali Notch Vineyard grows a total of six varieties of muscadine grapes.

There are vineyards and then there are vineyards with views. As a Knoxville-based wedding photographer, Tsali Notch Vineyard is surrounded by the mountains I call home. It is among my favorite venues for photography simply because of the natural beauty of the vines on the trellis, the Tennessee mountains, and the rustic buildings that host many special occasions.

Tsali Notch Wedding

A Rustic Wedding Venue

Not only is Tsali Notch Vineyard surrounded by the natural beauty that is Eastern Tennessee, it also includes rustic buildings that add to its charm. The three featured properties are:

  • The Upper Barn for large events
  • The Jackson Lounge, a recently refurbished two-room farmhouse
  • A reconstructed log building that is now a tasting room
  • The grounds, with tent rental service available

The maximum capacity for events at Tsali Notch Vineyard is 2,000, but just because it can accommodate that many people doesn’t mean you have to expand your guest list. Weddings big and small are welcome as the owners and staff of Tsali Notch Vineyard love sharing their venue for your special day.

A Dream Wedding Destination

Whether you live in Knoxville or outside of Tennessee, Tsali Notch Vineyard is a dream location for a destination wedding. There’s plenty to see and do in the Tennessee Overhill Heritage Area. From local artisans to historic sites, out-of-town guests will want to stay a few extra days. With Knoxville just an hour away, guests will find plenty to do there, too. Inquire with local hotels, cabins, and other large lodging establishments about group rates for your guests.

Many wedding venues promise a rustic, country setting but Tsali Notch Vineyard delivers. The natural beauty is just too vibrant, too real, and the venue buildings add character that is hard to find. It is an amazing venue for me as a wedding photographer because of the countless opportunities for capturing great photos.

Tsali Notch Vineyard offers indoor and outdoor options for a farm feel that is rustic with modern conveniences. If you’re drawn to the idea of little white lights among the rafters of a barn, and your wish is for a venue that radiates romantic ambiance, then you owe it to yourself to visit Tsali Notch Vineyards. You found your special someone, now discover your dream wedding location in the fields of Eastern Tennessee.

Erin Morrison Photography

Maybe I’m a bit of a hopeless romantic but when it comes to wedding photography, I believe there’s nothing better than a natural, country setting. The venue you choose is the foundation of your day and is the backdrop against which I capture your special moments.

As a wedding photographer, I specialize in natural light, documentary-style photography. There are no staged shots of your day. My talent lies in capturing the unplanned, spontaneous moments that capture the natural love and emotion of you, your special someone, your family, and your friends.

We all want to make sure to have those special wedding pictures that include special people, such as parents and grandparents. What a history these type of loved ones bring to a wedding celebration! The joy in their eyes and even their tears says more about your day than any forced photo.
