A Restoration Project that Produced a Perfect Wedding Venue

From its beginnings as part of an industrial complex, Weaver’s Room’s renovation is an architectural Cinderella story. Here is a snapshot of the origin and transformation of this building which today serves as an attractive stage for elegant weddings.

The Building’s Initial Construction

In 1890, immigrants were pouring into the United States. They were seeking a better life than the one they left and aspiring to fill jobs in factories throughout the country. That was the year the Cleveland Woolen Mill was formed. A brick building was constructed to hold the raw wool from local farms. This wool would be woven into the cloth and used to construct fine clothing for worldwide distribution.

In the 1970s the clothing factory moved to a new facility, leaving the old site vacant. This property’s condition declined until the late 1990s when Dr. Ronald Coleman was inspired to revitalize the Cleveland Landmark.

The original brick building, built in 1890, was Weaver’s Room, now appropriately enhanced to shelter various celebrations, including weddings. The restored room is a tribute to the industrious spirit of those who shaped Southern industry.

The Makeover Project

Mr. Coleman was inspired by similar mills in the South. These mills had been skillfully restored and adapted for a variety of uses. He and his team worked diligently for a number of years to restore and design The Old Woolen Mill property. Some of their planned purposes became Weaver’s Room event site, apartments, offices, an outdoor music venue.

Following more than a decade of renovation, the unprecedented, artistically designed site is once again bustling. This time it’s bustling with celebrations and wedding ceremonies. Formal dinners, proms, weddings, and receptions are frequently held at Weaver’s Room facility. –  Events that evoke the style and spirit of celebration in the 21st century.
