The Vineyards at Betty’s Creek: Marry Among the Mountains of Western North Carolina

If you’re searching for a rustic yet elegant wedding venue, then consider the Vineyards at Betty’s Creek for your special day. Best described as a mountain oasis, the natural beauty of Western North Carolina surrounds the venue. The incredible mountain views and the quiet sounds of nature create a peaceful, romantic ambiance.

The Vineyards at Betty’s Creek is highly rated in Wedding Wire reviews, and it’s easy to see why. Not only is it a beautiful setting, but the venue offers extra amenities for you and your guests to enjoy. As a professional wedding photographer based in East Tennessee, the short trip to the vineyards is well worth it. Each time I go, the mountains serve as a fabulous backdrop.

Five Ceremony Locations

Once you decide upon the vineyards as your wedding venue, your next decision is where to hold the ceremony. There are five ceremony locations at the Vineyards at Betty’s Creek, each offering amazing views.

  • The Shade Tree Garden Lawn
  • The Flower Gardens and Orchard View
  • The Lodge Patio View
  • Honeymoon Cottage Stone Patio
  • An additional patio that presents a dynamic view of the Great Smoky Mountains

The stones, flower gardens, and old trees also make beautiful backdrops for wedding photography. There’s simply nothing like the great outdoors for celebrating love among family and friends.

One Amazing Event Pavilion

In addition to the multiple ceremony locations, the Vineyards at Betty’s Creek offers an open-air pavilion for covered ceremonies and receptions. The structure fits the rustic nature of the location, yet with elegance and modern conveniences.

For example, there are six restrooms, a catering kitchen, and best of all, the pavilion can seat up to 250 of your closest friends and family. When the sun goes down and stars fill the sky, the pavilion has a soft glow from the strands of white lights. The cool mountain breeze is the icing on the cake at this open-air pavilion for dancing the night away.

The Groom’s Barn

This rustic structure is a safe haven for the groom and his groomsmen from the chaos of last-minute preparations. There they can watch TV, fix a bite to eat in the full-size kitchen, or relax with an outdoor yard game. The Groom’s Barn has comfortable seating and a half bath. It’s a great spot for your groom and his friends to spend time together.

The Honeymoon Cottage at Betty’s Cellar

Perhaps the most romantic spot at this rustic venue is the popular honeymoon cottage. You enter the structure through the original 1900 wine cellar, which now includes an updated kitchenette. Upstairs, there is a bathroom with a claw-foot tub and a four-poster king-size bed.  A small enclosed back porch has steps leading down to a stone patio. And, best of all, are the sounds from the vineyard’s namesake, Betty’s Creek, which flows near the honeymoon cottage.

The hand-laid stone patio can accommodate up to 120 guests, making it a perfect spot for pre- or post-wedding events. The honeymoon cottage is a great place for starting your first night as a married couple. The convenience of having your lodging on the grounds of your venue eliminates the need to travel after a busy, tiring day.

The Dunkard Barn “The Lodge”

Also known as “The Lodge,” the Dunkard Barnis a lodging option for extended friends and family. This restored barn features five en suite bedrooms with mountain views. The luxurious restoration is evident throughout the barn, with an incredible fireplace as its primary focus.

The kitchen features restaurant-quality appliances, and there is a climate-controlled wine cellar. The large patio makes a great place for gathering with friends and family. It is also one of the options for your ceremony location.

Rent the Venue for the Weekend

An added benefit of the Vineyards at Betty’s Creek as a wedding venue is that you can rent the venue for an entire weekend. For guests traveling a distance, this gives them more time to enjoy the property—the ponds, trails, and waterfalls—and to sneak in a little more time with you. Lodging at the vineyard is limited; however, there are plenty of cabins and hotels nearby. Encourage your guests to take advantage of the peaceful surroundings of this Western North Carolina mountain oasis.

The Best Mountain Wedding Venue

In September of 1873, outdoor enthusiast John Muir wrote to his sister, stating the now popular phrase, “The mountains are calling and I must go.” If the mountains are calling, then consider adding the Vineyards at Betty’s Creek to your list.

When you choose a venue like that of the Vineyards at Betty’s Creek, you’ll delight in the options. The beauty and the rustic charm are endless. While there’s nothing wrong with the standard hotel ballroom, the photographs aren’t just the same. Celebrating love among the earth’s natural beauty is what life is all about.
