Earthy Burnt Orange and Emerald Green Wedding in the Mountains
Imagine saying “I do” in front of a breathtaking panoramic view. When Stephanie and Michael settled on a destination wedding, they felt the fall mountain scenery of The Trillium Venue in Sevierville, Tennessee, would perfectly complement the rich tones of their burnt orange and emerald green wedding. Perched atop Tennessee’s Bluff Mountain, the venue offers unrivaled 180º views that stun guests while providing an unmatched ceremony backdrop.
A fall wedding in the Smoky Mountains is nothing short of magical. The rich colors, crisp air, and breathtaking scenery create the perfect backdrop for a celebration filled with warmth and romance. From unique seasonal details to the stunning mountain setting, there’s so much to love about saying “I do” surrounded by nature’s beauty.
The Mountain Setting
There are many reasons for holding a wedding in the Great Smoky Mountains. Breathtaking natural beauty with lush forests and cascading waterfalls creates a romantic atmosphere and a picturesque backdrop for wedding photos. Many wedding venues, from mountaintop vistas to charming chapels and rustic cabins, are available to suit different styles and budgets.
The mountain setting is the perfect destination for couples who love the outdoors and want an unforgettable wedding experience. The scenery promotes a sense of wonder and awe at the sheer scale and beauty of the natural world. For guests, a trip to the Smokies for a wedding becomes a memorable vacation with opportunities. Guests can enjoy hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and other outdoor activities before and after the ceremony.
Getting married in the mountains is a beautiful way to start your life together. The natural light, stunning scenery, and wide-open landscapes create the perfect setting for unforgettable moments and gorgeous wedding photos.
The Wedding Colors in Action
A perfect fall wedding requires colors that match the season. For Stephanie and Michael, burnt orange and emerald green fit right in with their desired earthy and fall color scheme. These colors created a romantic look and perfectly set the stage for incorporating elements of their Mexican heritage into their big day.
Details
Stephanie and Michael put so much thought into the little details that made their wedding feel personal and unique. In the final weeks before the big day, Stephanie and her bridesmaid Gabi spent weekends adding the finishing touches: assembling stationery, crafting custom “thank you” cards for each table, and finalizing signage for the venue.
They sourced items from online shops, carefully selecting cardholders, table runners, dried citrus, and bar signage. These Items brought their whimsical boho vision to life. Every element, from the hand-drawn venue map to the guest pamphlets, was intentionally chosen to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. These small, thoughtful touches tied everything together, making their wedding feel beautifully designed and deeply personal.
Florals
The bride’s bouquet was a mixture of roses, zinnias, and daisies in shades of white, peach, salmon, and burnt orange. These flowers were highlighted by emerald greenery. Bridesmaid’s bouquets and groomsmen’s boutonnieres were smaller combinations of those flowers over green. Fabric streamers and centerpieces were in keeping with the color combination, accented with dried flowers and slices of dried citrus.
Attire
Stephanie wanted her bridesmaids to feel beautiful in their dresses, so she was open to different styles. She chose various shades of green to complement their skin tones, with emerald being the dominant shade. When Mike decided on a velvet emerald green tuxedo with the help of his best man, she was happy that he had chosen something to help him feel and look so handsome. Neckties, pocket squares, and suspenders worn by the groomsmen matched the emerald green of the groom’s jacket.
Her bridal gown and veil were the icing on the cake to a well-attired wedding party. Stephanie wasn’t sure what her dream dress would look like. But with the help of her bridesmaids, she found the one. The whimsical design felt just right, and the veil was the cherry on top. “I had never felt so deserving,” she told me. On her wedding day, she looked effortlessly elegant in a flowing tulle gown with delicate floral appliqués. It was a look that perfectly matched the romantic fall vibes of The Great Smoky Mountains.
Decor
Stephanie and Michael chose place settings that featured rattan chargers under white china, burnt orange napkins, and gold-toned flatware. Tables featured votive candles and tapers protected by attractive glass vases arranged atop cream-colored table runners. Burnt orange velvet accents tastefully decorated the entire room for this autumn wedding.

A destination wedding is all about creating unforgettable memories. As a Knoxville-based wedding photographer, I capture weddings throughout the Smoky Mountains. I am one of the few photographers permitted to shoot in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. With experience across various venues, I can help document your day beautifully.
Some of my favorite wedding venues in the area include The Venue at Greenbrier Estate, which offers stunning mountain views. The Roosevelt Lodge provides a cozy, cabin-in-the-woods feel, and The Barn at Chestnut Springs offers romantic gardens and rustic charm. If you’re looking for a more intimate setting, The Chapel in the Hollow offers a whimsical, secluded space for elopements and small weddings.
