Stormy Foothills Parkway Elopement in the Smokies
Cathy and Kyle married on THE most popular date of the year. October 10, 2020. This is a date that just happened to have hurricane storms roll through the Smoky Mountain region. As I was driving to meet them, the winds were howling, and the rain was pelting my windshield. With a little bit of prayer, our time together was calm and beautiful. The fog rolled in and out on us as we traveled up and down the road. Then, we stopped for a little wedding cake. But, let’s face it; these two newlyweds could not have been happier in the rain.
Foothills Parkway
The Foothills Parkway is one of the newest and most requested locations in the Smokies. If you are looking for photos for a wedding, elopement, or engagement this is your place. Outside of Cades Cove, it is one of the few locations that boasts fantastic mountain views. Further, it has multiple locations with an abundance of beautiful backdrops, which include the waterfall, roads, forest, and of course, an epic sunset.
If you are looking to make the Foothills Parkway your elopement or wedding destination venue, make sure to snag your Special Use Permit to hold your ceremony. Need more advice? Download my Smokies Elopement Checklist to plan your trip today.
Please note that all safety precautions were enforced to shoot on the shoulder of the Foothills Parkway for this elopement.
