Effortlessly Fun Wedding Inspired by Jewel Tone Color Palette

Kelsey and Jared selected The Mill & Mine as the perfect venue for their big day. It is easy to see why. The venue is a hotspot in Knoxville’s revitalized downtown area. It is large enough to host many guests within its urban walls. Located in the heart of the Old City, just down the street from the famous Regus building, The Mill & Mine is the ideal place to have a wedding celebration in Knoxville today. And if you’re looking to bathe your wedding in a jewel-toned color palette, this wedding is for you.

A Wedding Steeped in Color & Style

This wedding becomes an inspiration when you add all the complementary colors and saturated shades! In addition to holding the wedding in an incredibly vibrant venue, the couple also included a jewel-tone color palette to complete the look. What type of color plate is that? Let’s take a peek into this color collection that takes center stage.

The Jewel Tone Palette: Depth, Drama & Elegance

When perfection is a jewel-tone color palette, think depth, drama, and elegance all rolled into one! Many of the colors are meant to look like “precious stones” pulled from a jewelry box. Saturated colors in hues such as ruby red, emerald green, amethyst purple, sapphire blue, deep burgundy, and citrine yellow are natural choices.

Each of these colors makes for a perfect accent color or focal point. But when paired together, this color palette creates a fantastic jewel tone space. Kelsey and Jared made this happen through jewel tone accessories, such as the bridesmaid dresses, table runners, groom’s attire, lighting, and flowers.

Floral & Décor & More: Elevating Every Detail

The floral design and colors selected make a big difference in the overall mood and feel of the wedding. Kelsey and Jared wanted to ensure they maintained that aesthetic throughout the venue. A few of the reasons why this was important to them included the following:

Personalization: Did you know that colors can make a powerful emotional impact? So true! Jewel tones create a warm, inviting atmosphere, especially in the fall and winter. Deep hues like emerald green, sapphire blue, and amethyst purple evoke richness and romance, while ruby red and deep burgundy add a bold, passionate touch.

The best way to bring out these colors? Florals and décor. Imagine lush floral arrangements bursting with velvety roses, dahlias, and ranunculus in deep jewel hues accented with greenery for contrast. A ceremony arbor with rich, moody colors can set a dramatic and elegant backdrop for vows. At the same time, candlelit reception tablescapes with gold accents, jewel-toned linens, and vintage-inspired goblets add depth and sophistication to the celebration.

Maintaining Uniform Appearances Throughout: A cohesive color scheme makes a massive difference in wedding photography. An album with coordinated tones and colors looks more polished and visually striking, helping every moment feel connected and timeless. To keep the jewel-tone aesthetic consistent, consider everything from the invitations and ceremony backdrop to reception tablescapes, bridesmaid dresses, and guest attire.

Kelsey looked fantastic in her white dress with her jewel-toned bouquet. Jared’s outfit in deep navy with a magenta tie paired well! You can tell that they thought out and designed their wedding day attire to complement the color scheme of the rest of the wedding. Of course, velvet bridesmaid dresses were also planned, featuring amethyst, sapphire, ruby, yellow, and darker green colors. This was all in keeping with the jewel theme and helped to complete the picture.

When Nick reached out to me we communicated a LOT about his proposal to Alyssa.

We first started talking about going to Cades Cove but in March, the weather is unpredictable. I asked what he would like to do after the proposal and if there would be dinner plans…and my brain immediately went to @dancingbeartn.

Just near the Townsend entrance to the GSMNP, this venue has the cutest gazebo and even better food. I reached out to their coordinator and she held their date and time for me! I picked up Nick’s flower order from @melissatimmdesigns and away I went!

Everything turned out so well, and of course, she said YES.
