Romantic Wedding at The Press Room Knoxville
Meet Kelly and Trent. These two are hard-working people who met in medical school on their way to becoming doctors at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. They’re always going nonstop, so planning their wedding was a real balancing act. They HAD to get married on the weekend they chose because it was pretty much the only time that they had off! They did, however, take a little time with me for an engagement session too—where I fell in love with them both!
Downtown Knoxville Venue
I was also incredibly excited about the venue Kelly and Trent chose for their reception. The Press Room is a new venue in town, so this was the first wedding I photographed there. I already love it! This Knoxville wedding venue is housed in a fully renovated historic site. Lovingly transformed into a gorgeous rental space, the renovation preserved some of the history of the original building including richly textured exposed brick, iron beams, and industrial-style lighting fixtures. It’s so beautiful to see a venue that perfectly bridges old and new. And can we talk about how their choice of wedding venue and the backdrop from their engagement session ties in together? I love how their choices in venues were so deeply infused with their personal style. The Press Room is definitely a Knoxville event space I’m hoping to return to with future weddings.
Laurel Church of Christ
Of course, before we got to their Press Room reception, we had a gorgeous ceremony at the Laurel Church of Christ. The church itself was absolutely stunning as well. Just look at the light on the greenway next door! I could have spent all day photographing the two of them in that amazing light. And, with the high, airy ceilings and huge windows, their touching ceremony was drenched with that beautiful springtime light.
Captured Moments
After the ceremony, the reception was all about love. The speeches were filled with hilarious and charming stories about Kelly and Shane. Kelly’s father and sister, as well as Trent’s brother, were amazing! They had everyone laughing, crying, and cheering along. Then, everyone hit the dance floor, where there was plenty of dancing and drinking. And dancing. And drinking. A lot of their friends are also in med school or the medical field, so they don’t get out much, ha! I’m glad they all had a blast.

Thank you, Kelly & Trent, for asking me to be part of your celebrations. Thanks also to Clint James Photography for being my second shooter for this wedding and to Janna Fowler, the coordinator, for putting this couple in touch with me in the first place!
