Industrial Winter Wedding at The Standard Knoxville
I first met Shannon and Alex while planning their engagement photo session. Capturing the genuine love between the two, combined with the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains, reminded me of why I love what I do. And it was an honor to photograph their industrial winter wedding at The Standard Knoxville just a few months ago! This amazing Knoxville wedding venue is located in the heart of downtown. The circa 1930 building was once The Standard Wilson Glass Company. In 2011 it was repurposed as a modern event center. The building’s essence lays in it’s exposed brick, original wood staircase, and copper storefront.
A Love Story
As a Knoxville wedding photographer, I never tire of capturing that first look—when the groom sees his bride for the first time. Alex’s teary-eyed reaction of seeing Shannon is what it is all about. No matter how cold the temperature was outside, the warmth in this wedding was immeasurable. Shannon and Alex are a perfect example of what happens when you let the emotion of the day guide your photos. The sparkle in Shannon’s eyes, the wide smiles from Alex, and the celebration with friends and family were my focus.
The Highlights
The beautiful organic cranberry florals from Melissa Timm Design added the perfect color for this industrial winter wedding. Adorned with greenery, stood the focal point for the wedding: the beautiful old barn doors. Can we talk about the couple? Essense of Australia was where Shannon found her dream dress, and it complimented nicely with Alex’s dark blue suit from Men’s Warehouse.
Coordinator Heels & Veils handled the details perfectly. Celebration after the ceremony included cuisine from Rosa’s Catering. Shannon and Alex’s beautiful cake was a creation of K*Town Cakes. The reception continued with dancing to music provided by Andrew from Ogle Entertainment. If you catch it, you may see my main second shooter, Clint, mauled by a group of dancers! Ha!
