It’s not every day that we get out to Max Patch Mountain for engagement photos. Lea, Alex, and I made this special trip a few weeks ago. Deep in the Pisgah National Forest, this bald-headed mountaintop offers star gazing, camping, and wildflowers. Right on the Appalachian Trail, this scenic location is beloved by many.

We were there for the jaw-dropping views. The Great Smoky Mountains, dominates the horizon to the southwest. To the east in Tennessee, there is the view of the flatlands. And to the west rises the dark ridge line of the Black Mountains. Everywhere we turned, endless ridges and peaks fill every vantage point.  As you will see, Max Patch Mountain is beautiful no matter the weather. Rain, sun, and wind greeted us for our engagement photos. So may think that this is a problem, but I guarantee you that it isn’t. Lea’s long dress effortless flowed as her hair whipped across her face. The dark skies also created a simply romantic feel. 

Lea and Alex are getting married this Fall at one of our favorite North Carolina wedding venues. The Vineyards at Betty’s Creek offers as much as Max Patch Mountain if not more! Manicured gardens, orchards, and vineyards fill this mountain oasis resort. The Vineyards at Betty’s Creek also offers stunning mountain views!
