Colorful Summer Wedding at Heartland Meadows
I got them to say a dirty word at their engagement session. Their laughter was so loud, I knew that I was going to fall in love with Amanda and Benyx. I certainly did. Their bright summer wedding at Heartland Meadows this past May was nothing short of smiles, happy tears, and intimate moments. Capturing the moments between them reminded me of why I became a wedding photographer in the first place.
Their Story
They dated for eight years. It actually took three years for Benyx to even just ask Amanda out on a date! What Amanda didn’t know, was that Benyx decided to make plans for their future throughout the entire eight years. Yes, Amanda would drop the occasional “getting married” conversation, and he nonchalantly blew it off like it was nothing. But he was right there with her. He was making payments on a ring, each month a little went towards the ring until he could finally ask her to be his wife.
Intimate Moments
Amanda wanted a huge celebration for her wedding day. In her mind, the more the merrier! And what a celebration they had! But along with those celebration moments, were intimate moments such a first look with Amanda and her father. The first look with her “daddy” was absolutely special. She wanted to have that moment with him to say thank you. She wanted to say thank you for raising her, for making her the woman she was, and the wife she would be. When he turned around to see her, his eyes filled with tears “You look just as beautiful as I dreamed you would.” Needless to say, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
Oh, but there were more happy tears to be had! Amanda and Benyx planned a hidden first look and prayer together before the walk down the aisle. It was a last minute decision, but certainly one of the sweetest. “I’ve never felt so secure in becoming his wife,” she said. “I can’t tell you what that feeling was like but I can tell you I knew God was blessing me with the man I’ve prayed for.” They clasped hands around the barn, and barely a whisper was spoken. The only sound was the click of my shutter, and it felt like the whole world had just stopped.
Lush Flower Arbor
Benyx actually choose the purple! I think that it was a perfect choice that compliments Amanda’s bubbly personality. Blending varying shades of hot pinks and purples, LB Floral used roses, stock flower, and eucalyptus to create an arbor overflowing with blooms! It was a definite wow factor for the wedding and actually brought Amanda to tears. It was a perfect highlight for her wedding day under the shade of a grand tree.
