THE BLOG

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: every single wedding I photograph is different. Every. Single. One. And that’s exactly the way it’s supposed to be.

Kailey and Jim built their wedding around one very simple idea: togetherness through a really good party. Their cocktail-inspired reception was designed for mingling, moving around, and spending time with the people they invited.

The dance floor was right by the bar and lounge area. A handful of seated tables sat under the Grand Hall at The Trillium, but the whole setup encouraged people to move, talk, dance, grab a drink, sit for a minute, and then get right back into it. Nobody was tucked away in separate spaces. Everyone was part of the same party.

And it WORKED.

What. A. Day.

It’s officially goldenrod season in East Tennessee. Kayla, John, and I travelled all around Cades Cove on a quiet fall evening. Couldn’t ask for better weather or better company 💛
