Charming Hometown Elopement in Virginia

Charming and Intimate Hometown Elopement in Virginia

One of my favorite things about my job is that I meet unique couples with so much love for each other. Areti and Patrick, a couple who eloped together, are a shining example of two people who care for each other! I had the pleasure of photographing Areti and Patrick’s beautiful elopement; the groom was born and raised in Jonesville, Virginia, and from the day the bride first set eyes on the town, she knew an elopement in Virginia was on the books! And the two did just that!

Although I am based in Tennessee, I am excited to travel to the Western Virginia area. The photographs I took in Jonesville honor Areti and Patrick’s incredible love for each other. So, if you want to elope like Areti and Patrick did, let’s talk more.

The Charm of Hometown Elopements

Your home is where your heart is, so you don’t have to have an elaborate destination wedding for your wedding to be special. Eloping in your hometown, or even at your house, can be a romantic way to celebrate your love. Getting married at a place you’re familiar with is charming because you have already made special memories at your venue. I know how special the Smokey Mountains are to me, but I love to capture weddings outside of this area. At-home elopements are so special to me because I get to learn about the spaces that matter to you and your partner!

Planning an Elopement

Planning a hometown elopement is typically less stressful than planning a large-scale wedding. For one, there are typically fewer people at an elopement. So, you don’t have to worry about catering to hundreds and hundreds of guests. In addition, you don’t have to book your venue months or years in advance because you’re likely getting married in your hometown. Consider your local church, grandma’s home, or a small park.

All in all, planning an at-home elopement is usually a pretty seamless experience. Of course, there will still be plenty of decisions to make (like what kind of cake you’re going to serve!). But if you’re looking for a wedding planning option that’s less stressful, then an at-home elopement might be for you.

The Beauty of an Elopement in Virginia

I’ve spent a decent amount of time traveling through the western part of Virginia. By now, I have to say I love this region wholeheartedly. The western area of Virginia is incredibly beautiful; it’s rural and scenic, and it never fails to make me happy to visit. When it comes down to it, Virginia is beautiful, so a wedding in the western Virginia area is a great option for many couples.

The Role of the Photographer

As a photographer, my role is to please you! There are already so many things you must consider and worry about when planning a wedding. Such as the food, the weather, the guests who attend your wedding, and other things. You don’t need to worry about your photographer, too. You shouldn’t spend time wondering whether or not your photographs will turn out the way you’d like them to. I work hard to ensure my clients love their wedding photographs. These special photographs will provide you with memories that last forever, so you should love them! You can trust that I take the stress out of photography sessions. Here are some more reasons to choose Erin Morrison Photography:

  • I Have Industry Experience: I’ve been photographing couples for a long time now, so I know what to do…and I’ve learned what not to do! You don’t want to collaborate with a beginner photographer for your wedding—you want to work with the best!
  • I Have Worked with Many Couples: I have enjoyed working with so many couples! I can adjust my practice to meet your needs. Are you looking for specific shots of the dress or the ring? I can make that happen for you. Do you want photographs with your dog or with special family members? I can make that happen for you, too. Tell me what you want, and we’ll work together to make it happen.
  • I Can Help Make Your Hometown Shine: Your hometown is beautiful, whether in Virginia or beyond. Making the environment stand out is my specialty. I know how to find the best light and the most scenic spots at your wedding venue. Of course, you and your partner are the stars of your photographs. But I can make your hometown the next best element of your wedding images!
  • I Will Capture Your Special Day with Care: When it comes to wedding photography, it’s all in the details. Things like the photograph’s composition, light, and color palette need to be tended to with the utmost care. All the wedding photographs I take are carefully edited to accentuate how beautiful your wedding day truly was.
  • I Am Empathetic and a Good Listener: I know it’s hard to plan a wedding. Also, I know it’s hard to put yourself behind the camera if you’re nervous or self-conscious. Talk to me about your concerns, stressors, and other wedding-related issues. I want to make you comfortable, and I know something about weddings!
