Suttree Landing Park Engagement Photos with Pizza and Paddle Boards

Let’s talk about engagement sessions that feel like you. No forced poses. No cookie-cutter location. Just love, laughter, and a slice of pizza (or three). Brittany and Q nailed the vibe during their session at Suttree Landing Park. This south Knoxville location is a beautiful park tucked right along the Tennessee River and quickly became one of my favorite spots for an engagement shoot.

Why Suttree Landing Park Is a Hidden Gem in Knoxville, TN

Suttree Landing Park is a low-key treasure located just off Waterfront Drive, a short hop from downtown Knoxville. It has a wide-open festival lawn, scenic trails, picnic tables, and a killer river view. You’ve also got a kayak launch, a peaceful shoreline, and enough green space. There are benches to make it easy to roam, sit, snack, or soak in the view. Whether you’re planning a quick bike ride, tossing a frisbee, or packing a picnic, it’s the kind of park where real life and real love come together naturally.

From First Date Pizza to the Perfect Spot to Sit and Chill

Brittany and Q brought pizza to their session—and no, that’s not a typo. Their first date was grabbing a pie together, and they wanted to bring that memory full circle. So we found a quiet spot near the boat dock, cracked open the pizza box, and let the photos do their thing. Sitting by the waterfront, laughing between bites, and watching the sunset over Knoxville? That’s the kind of moment you can’t fake.

Paddle Vibes, Park Energy, and All the Fun

This couple also loves all things related to paddling and water sports. So, of course, Suttree Landing provided the perfect space to showcase that side of their story. Whether you’re into paddleboarding, kayaking, or just watching the boats float by, this recreation-friendly location has that relaxing energy couples love.

And if you’ve got kids, dogs, or are just planning a low-key day out? There’s a playground and open grass areas for games. Clean restrooms nearby make it an excellent spot for family fun or a pre-shoot outfit change.

One of the best parts? Suttree Landing Park is just down the road from Ijams Nature Center and connects to the Knoxville Urban Wilderness via the greenway system. It’s the kind of accessible location that makes it easy to turn your photo session into a full day of activities, whether that’s a post-session hike, a picnic lunch, or a quiet walk with your partner by the river.
