Small Backyard Wedding Ceremony on the Tennessee River
It’s not every day that we get a backyard wedding on the banks of the Tennessee River. But, on a rainy and cool summer day, that is exactly what we got. This backyard wedding was perfect for Chelsey and Adam who love to be outdoors, but who also wanted a unique and sentimental feel for their wedding day. The sentimental factor of this a backyard wedding was not underestimated. People from every corner of the neighborhood created a comfortable space for their backyard wedding ceremony. The neighbors and family created a comfortable space that felt like home no matter where they went. It was so special to see everyone chip in their time and talent to create such a special memory that will be cherished forever.
Boat Dock Wedding Ceremony
Now, there are venues, and then there are backyard wedding venues! Particular attention was paid to the boat dock at the back of the sprawling back yard. The dock served as the dramatic focal point for their wedding vows with large, blooming urns bookending each side. Large trees made the perfect shade for the guests, and DIY paper lanterns lead guests to their seats.
The boat dock also served up the perfect place for one of the sweetest first looks we’ve ever seen! After getting ready in separate homes, Alex awaited his bride at the end of the aisle. Chelsey and Alex knew that they wanted to do a First Look for their wedding day but also wanted to see each other down the aisle. So, we made the best of both worlds. As he turned to see his bride, there wasn’t a dry eye in the neighborhood.
Riverside Tent Reception
There are so many ideas for small backyard weddings, but one thing that is always a good idea are tents. Tents are perfect for a number of reasons. They’re durable and functional. Creating an area that is comforting to your guests is a must. Make sure that you have a solid surface and foundation to build on. Then, allocate plenty of space for rentals and entertainment, such as that all-important dance floor.
Further, you can make your tent unique to your event! Whether the tent is white, clear, or colorful, they make for a stylish addition to a backyard reception. Think about adding tall centerpieces that will take up vertical space and hanging decor in the trees to fill out the design. Another idea to add flair is by adding bistro or garden lights! A perfect way to add romance to any backyard wedding reception.
