Rock Island Waterfall
Do you remember Meredith + Chris from their sunrise couple photos at the Nashville Pedestrian Bridge? Well, I certainly do. These lovely people were so gracious to allow this Knoxville photographer to take their picture at 5 am! Now, this couple is married and rocking it through their first year of marriage like a boss. And what place to have anniversary photos than at the Rock Island Waterfall?
Meredith + Chris met many years ago while Meredith was a manager at a restaurant in Nashville. Chris would come into the restaurant and see this lovely woman. As Meredith would say, he stalked her. Ok, Ok! The word “stalk” may be a strong word, but he had an instant connection to her and just had to take her out on a date. I guess you could say that the rest is history?
Rock Island State Park
The Rock Island Waterfall, or otherwise noted as the Great Falls, is a 30-foot cascading waterfall. The Great Falls are located at Rock Island State Park, which is an 883-acre park situated at the beginning of Center Hill Lake at the junction of the Caney Fork, Collins, and Rocky Rivers. The rugged beauty is undoubtedly a nature-lovers dream as it includes the Caney Fork Gorge below Great Falls Dam, a 19th-century cotton textile mill, rugged trails perfect for hiking, and scenic overlooks. The overlooks are some of the most spectacular and significant overlooks along the Eastern Highland Rim.
