Chapel in the Hollow Wedding Venue
Chapel in the Hollow is a rustic wedding venue in the Smoky Mountains. It is a lovely place in the woods, perfect for your dream outdoorsy wedding. As a smaller venue, it is excellent for micro-weddings or elopements.
Location
Up in the Smoky Mountains, the Chapel in the Hollow wedding venue is in the heart of the mountains but only about a 20-minute drive from Townsend, TN. It is also near fantastic resort accommodations, restaurants, and lodges, such as Dancing Bear Lodge.
The drive through the Smoky Mountains will feel like you are traveling from the modern world to somewhere more ancient and timeless. The remote location increases the intimate feel of your wedding day.

Things to Know
This small, outdoor-focused venue is intended for people planning a more intimate ceremony in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s not suited for large crowds, making it perfect for groups of up to 35 people.
Decor Options
They also offer accessories such as candles, lanterns, wreaths, and glass jars for fairy lights or florals. They will do custom options as well!
Open Year Round
The venue is open year-round and can be pretty in winter when the trees are decorated with hoarfrost or in the fall when the leaves have turned.
Parking Area
The main parking area is a few minutes walk from the chapel along a fairly level gravel road and is wheelchair-accessible. Because it’s an outdoor venue, they welcome pets, so if you want your labrador to be the “flower pet.” Pets must be kept on a leash.
Cell Service
There is no power at Chapel in the Hollow and little or no cell phone service. Many couples would consider this a plus, as it adds to the feeling of being completely in the middle of nowhere, away from civilization.
In-House Officiant
The owner has been ordained by First Nation Ministries, the Universal Life Church, and American Marriage Ministries, thus acting as an in-house officiant. All ceremonies can be adjusted to meet your needs, and yes, they will do a custom ceremony for you. The wedding scripts include standard vows, or you can insert your own.
However, the venue allows couples to hire their own officiant. Chapel in the Hollow also has two backup officiants in case he is unavailable.
Changing Area
Chapel in the Hollow is an outdoor-only venue, so check the forecast when scheduling. You can rent the hollow chapel for one to three hours. Note that the small chapel building contains a changing area for the bride, but that is the only shelter.
Packages
All packages include twelve mini-pews for seating, which can be decorated with hanging accessories. The pews are not movable. The package also includes a beautiful side table for drinks and cake, faux floral options and fabric for decorating the tiny chapel. The owners will do everything they can to customize the look of the outdoor area and hollow chapel building. They also offer a variety of optional services.
They have a special service for micro weddings where you rent the hollow chapel for only 20 minutes and can get in and out quickly, which is ideal for elopements or if you’re on a budget. However, this option only includes photos in the area you rented for the ceremony (because of the time constraints).
LGBTQIA+ Friendly Venue
Chapel in the Hollow proudly embraces diversity and strives to create an inclusive and welcoming space. The venue celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and is committed to providing an environment where all individuals feel accepted. Discrimination has no place there, and they encourage love, respect, and unity among patrons.
Smoky Mountain Wedding Photographer
Chapel in the Hollow is a family-owned business. The grounds are cultivated with photography in mind, so there are lots of beautiful wooded backdrops for your shoot.
It is a fabulous choice for smaller weddings, elopements, and vow renewals. It’s also a great choice if you want your pets involved in the ceremony. It is terrific for people who wish to have a woody backdrop for their wedding photos.
