Old City Engagement Photos
I received Cassie’s message in my inbox just two days after their engagement, and I pretty much fell in love with them right off the bat. As described by Cassie, Lauren is “nerdy and quiet,” and she is “energetic and loud,” but both are passionate about loving and living in Knoxville while also trying to be involved within the city to making it a better place. Their proposal happened in the woods of The Great Smoky Mountains, so we felt it appropriate to take their engagement photos in the Old City.
But the real story here is how these two met. Both Cassie + Lauren were working at a residential psychiatric facility for adolescents. They worked together for eight months; long enough to respect each other professionally and long enough to know that they enjoyed working together. About that time, Cassie decided to leap into online dating. She created an account on Match.com, and guess what? Lauren was her top match! After months of internal dialogue, Cassie finally resolved to ask Lauren out. That day, Cassie spent the entire day checking the breakroom every hour until Lauren went on break. Cassie AWKWARDLY slide her phone across the break room table asking, “So can we make this happen?” Lauren didn’t realize she was asking for her number. But don’t worry friends, they figured it out. Obviously.
Their wedding will take place just a few blocks away from where we took their engagement photos. Their wedding venue, The Central Collective, is a modern creative space in the heart of Knoxville. Cassie + Lauren are planning a simple, DIY, small party-type celebration with about forty guests. I have heard word that bacon and coffee will be served. Count me in. Ladies, I cannot WAIT to see you all again! It’s gonna be so awesome!
