When Maureen and Thomas met at The Quarry Venue for a sustainable wedding, the result was pure magic! Lindsey and Morgan helped the couple plan a beautiful wedding, focusing on eco-friendly local and rented decor and furniture. Every detail was full of love, purpose, and joy. We especially loved the lush floral designs created by LB Floral that adorned the ceremony altar and the farmhouse-style tables in the Terrazzo. And let’s not forget the one thing that we humans can’t create. The sun! How amazing is the light over the ceremony? Pure Mother Nature perfection.

Maureen is studying to be a marine biologist. So, being kind to Mother Earth is a big deal to her. And to her husband as well. I love the idea of a sustainable wedding; a way to celebrate your marriage while also being kind to the environment. There are plenty of options that a couple can utilize on their wedding day. Just like Maureen and Thomas, renting tables and chairs or other furniture is an option. When eating, make no waste by using linen napkins and silverware. And thinking hard about your guest list to ensure no wasted food at dinner is a must. One big new trend at weddings is large, printed chalkboards and blackboards that take the place of programs! What a great sustainable wedding idea!

The Quarry Venue Knoxville

The Quarry Venue Knoxville is a paradise in the heart of Knoxville. I’ve photographed numerous weddings here and I always find new places to snag photos. In fact, it also has multiple ceremony locations inside “The Canyon.” With 100-foot soaring walls and a 25-foot waterfall, it’s the heart of this Knoxville wedding venue. The Terrazzo, just down the brick pathway is a heated and air-conditioned industrial reception location. It’s perfect for any intimate wedding or reception. This wedding venue is currently booking weddings for 2020 and 2021.
