A Gorgeous DIY Wedding in East Tennessee

I had the honor of photographing this gorgeous DIY Wedding in East Tennessee. Alex and Cody’s wedding at LexLin Gypsy Ranch was a stunning event eclipsed with the perfect setting to honor their new life together while also honoring their past. The farm is owned by members of Cody’s family. But, it was obvious at a glance why Alex and her family fell in love with it and considered it the perfect location for their big day. With more than 30 miles of trails, two gorgeous covered bridges, and a beautiful field, it’s little wonder that LexLin Gypsy Ranch created such a stunning backdrop for a wedding. With so many spectacular sights to choose from, I had a hard time deciding which locations would be the most fun for pictures of the bride and groom.

DIY Notes from Family

One of the most charming elements of this DIY East Tennessee wedding was the effort that the family put into designing their own decorations. And let me tell you, nearly every aspect of the decor was DIY. There were knickknacks collected by Alex and her mother making up the majority of the table decor. Many of the beautiful elements of the wedding decorations. Some of my favorite elements of the ceremony were constructed primarily by the family, such as the gorgeous arbors. Even the aisle used for the ceremony and the dance floor were constructed just for the event, helping to bring everything together.

There’s nothing quite like knowing that all your friends and family members have come together to support you on your wedding day. And Alex and Cody couldn’t avoid knowing that their day was filled with love. The couple had an extensive wedding party surrounding them throughout their special day. The groom and his groomsmen dressed in dashing black tuxes which created a romantic feel for the event. The bridesmaids? They wore gorgeous jewel tone dresses that set off their complexions. The dresses also added a note of warmth to the Fall atmosphere.

Amazing Vendors

It takes a village to bring everything together this DIY wedding in East Tennessee. While Alex, Cody, and their families joined together to take care of many of those tasks on their own, they also invited a party of vendors to help bring the essential elements together. Music City Tents and events provided Serpentine tables at the wedding reception. This allowed plenty of seating for their families while adding a gorgeous note to the rustic feel.

Bees Knees Bakery created the cake for the bride and groom, with the catering for the special day provided by Alex’s brother, Brett. Brett’s food was a perfect fit for the rustic theme of the wedding. It brought smiles to the guests’ faces as they enjoyed this wonderful event. And did you see the doughnut wall? Who can turn down the fun of doughnuts on sticks as you enjoy a gorgeous wedding reception? Echelon Florist provided the gorgeous bouquets carried by the bride and her bridesmaids. Echelon also created the garland that accented this stunning event. My friend Angie with Absolute Wedding Perfection provided wedding coordination services. This rounded out some of the team that worked together to pull off the vision for this wedding. We also saw the peeps at the Knox Photo Bus! What a great way to capture some great moments shared between guests at the reception.

I loved photographing this DIY wedding in East Tennessee for more reasons than one! It was a unique venue the perfect opportunity to check out some stunning backdrops for the lovely couple. And, it was obvious throughout the entire event that this was a day filled with love. Seeing how the families came together to provide everything the happy couple needed was a beautiful addition to a gorgeous day.
