Barley’s St. Patrick’s Day 5k
Thank you so much to all the adults, children, families, singles, dog lovers, and green-decked-out 5k runners for making the 5th Annual Barley’s St. Patrick’s Day 5k a huge success!
On Sunday, March 19, 2017, we had 582 people register for our super fun 5k that runs through the Old City in Knoxville, Tennessee. The 5th Annual Barley’s St. Patrick’s Day 5k supports Emily’s Power for a Cure. EPFAC helps families with children who are fighting Neuroblastoma, which is a childhood cancer. Neuroblastoma which originates in the adrenal glands and also attacks the nerve tissue causing tumors.
Unfortunately, half of all the children diagnosed are under the age of two, and half of all patients with Neuroblastoma do not respond to treatment. Emily’s Power for a Cure was started after Emily Ransom passed away at the age of 2 from this horrible cancer. We have been fundraising and fighting for a cure since her passing in 2006. And our fundraising goal was definitely hit! We raised $20,000 to support EPFAC! Wow!
THANK YOU to everyone who registered. It was such a wonderful day full of run, beer, and pizza!
